A Sweet Reminder

Through all the absurdities of dating, you eventually come across one that restores your faith in the process. Even if you aren’t interested or things don’t pan out the way you would’ve hoped, it can still be a reminder that there is normalcy in a world full of disappointment and foolish amazement; and it can all be leveled out with just one refreshing encounter.Read more

I Will Wait

Once upon a time, there lived a girl and a boy in a far-off land. Being from two different sides of the track, their families remained at odds with each other.  They were to never cross paths until one fateful night at a ball.  His eyes were drawn to hers and from that day forward they became inseparable.

Dating: The Age of Hashtags and Mentions

I’ll admit, the evolution of technology seems to be a wonderful thing. Especially with the rise of social media and the many different ways that we stay in touch with people from across the world. Literally, the world is smaller today than it has ever been before.

Let’s go with that notion for this next story (you can later decide whether or not I’m right).Read more

Case of The Ex

I’ve been in my share situations when it comes to dating.  However, aside from unavailable men, the one that seems to keep rearing its ugly little head is the situation of the ex.  In these cases I can’t even reminisce on Mya’s “Case of the Ex (Whatcha Gonna Do)”.  At least in that song the ex-girlfriend poses a threat by trying to get the man back.  In my experiences the guy’s ex-girlfriend doesn’t seem to come around or knowingly cause an issue.  The concern is that HE is still emotionally attached to her.  Read more

Dating is: Overly Ambitious

First dates can be a bit stressful for some. You put on your best face; and most try to be on their best behavior hoping to make a good impression. Then there are some out there, who could clearly care less. And, lets just say this date in particular, was a bit egregious.

It was September 2012 at a Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) event that I met this individual. At this time the election for the new president was in full throttle.  With it being election season most people attending the CBC at this time were in President Obama’s corner.Read more
